You have been elected to a leadership position by your fellow
troop members.
You have attended JLTWTB and have learned some of the leadership
skills that will help you perform your job.
Knowing the needs of the group, planning, and communicating are
three of the eleven leadership skills.
The most important leadership skill is LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE.
SCOUT SPIRIT is a big part of being a successful leader. You
pitch in and help out even when not asked. You attend functions even
when they are not the most exciting to you because younger scouts
can learn from you and your example.
Successful completion of a leadership position is a
requirement for advancement in rank.
If a member of the Patrol Leader Council, you will be expected to
attend all meeting unless excused by the Senior Patrol
Leader or Scoutmaster.
You will be expected to attend all troop meeting unless excused
by the Senior Patrol Leader or Scoutmaster.
With each succeeding rank, more is expected for than for lower
ranks in regards to the quality of leadership displayed, ie the
example shown to others.
