Leadership - What makes the Troop Succeed
Your Responsibilities

CONGRATULATIONS,

AS A MEMBER OF THE LEADERSHIP TEAM OF THE TROOP:

You have been elected to a leadership position by your fellow troop members.

You have attended JLTWTB and have learned some of the leadership skills that will help you perform your job.

Knowing the needs of the group, planning, and communicating are three of the eleven leadership skills.

The most important leadership skill is LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE.

SCOUT SPIRIT is a big part of being a successful leader. You pitch in and help out even when not asked. You attend functions even when they are not the most exciting to you because younger scouts can learn from you and your example.

Successful completion of a leadership position is a requirement for advancement in rank.

If a member of the Patrol Leader Council, you will be expected to attend all meeting unless excused by the Senior Patrol Leader or Scoutmaster.

You will be expected to attend all troop meeting unless excused by the Senior Patrol Leader or Scoutmaster.

With each succeeding rank, more is expected for than for lower ranks in regards to the quality of leadership displayed, ie the example shown to others.

When you have completed your leadership roll, and are ready for advancement, prepare a written paragraph of you accomplishments and submit it to the Scoutmaster.
